Hypertension
Hypertension (HTN) or high blood pressure is also known as the silent killer due to the fact that most of the time you will not be presented with any symptoms when your blood pressure is high.
Dangers of high blood pressure
Heart disease and renal disease may cause hypertension but this appears to only be the case in approximately 5-6% of cases. It is usually the other way around the hypertension causes heart disease and renal complications and damage.
Hypertension increases you risk of stroke which affects over 150,000 people in the UK every year.
