Vertebrobasilar insufficiency

Intermittent episodes of weakness, dizziness, double vision and difficulty in speaking, brought on by reduced blood flow to the brain. The condition is often a result of atherosclerosis (narrowing due to accumulation of fatty deposits) of the basilar and vertebral arteries and other arteries in the bottom of the brain. Vertebrobasilar insufficiency occasionally precedes a stroke.
