Rheumatoid arthritis – if you find that your joints are beginning to get ankylosis (stiff) and swollen you may be suffering with arthritis, which is a chronic systemic inflammatory disorder.
Inflammation and hyperplasia
The main thing that arthritis presents is inflammation and hyperplasia (Swelling) of synovial joints. In rare cases if rheumatoid arthritis, when it is left untreated rheumatoid arthritis can lead to a similar form of inflammation taking place in the white of the eyes (sclera), the lungs (pleura) and around the heart (pericardium). Rheumatoid arthritis is more common in women and can affect a person at any age but usually starts after the age of 35.
