Bradycardia

An abnormally slow heart rate. The majority of people have a heart rate of 60 – 100 beats per minute, however many athletes and healthier people, who exercise regularly and energetically have slower heart rates. For others, Bradycardia can indicate an underlying disorder, for example heart block or hypothyroidism. When taking betablocker drugs bradycardia can also occur. Sudden or profound bradycardia can cause such a drop in blood pressure that its results in fainting (vasovagal attack)
