Chlamydia trachomatis
In men, Chlamydia trachomatis is a major cause of sexually transmitted infections, which may lead to discharge from the penis. In women, the infection is usually symptom less, but can lead to inflammation of the pelvis, which is a common cause of infertility, ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. An acute disorder called neonatal ophthalmia may occur in babies born to women with chlamydia.
