Fatty liver
A condition in which fat accumulates within the liver cells. The most commonly seen cause of fatty liver is excessive consumption of alcohol which, if continued, sooner or later leads to cirrhosis. However if the drinking of alcohols ceases, the fat clears from the liver. Fatty liver can also arise in conjunction with diabetes mellitus, obesity, and starvation and in some cases of chronic ill- health.
