Gerstmann’s syndrome

A neurological disorder involving a writing disability agraphia along with the incapacity to understand mathematical calculations, to distinguish left from right, and to identify the fingers (a type of agnosia).  A lot of sufferers also experience aphasia (full loss of language skills).  The syndrome can arise after a stroke or injury to the left parietal lobe of the brain, but the exact cause is not known.
