Ghon’s tuvcle

An abnormal area in the lung also known as Ghon’s focus, that arises due to an infection with tuberculosis in someone who has not previously had the disease.  Usually, a Ghon’s tuvcle gets better without causing symptoms, but in a few cases it can result in tuberculosis that spreads via the lymphatic system, in the air sacs of the lungs, or in the bloodstream.  A healed tuvcle can become calcified, and can be found during a routine chest X-ray.
