Leiomyoma
A noncancerous tumour of smooth muscle. Leiomyomas , also known as fibroids, often arise in the uterus. Hardly ever, they develop in the walls of blood vessels in the skin, forming tender lumps. Leiomyomas can need surgical removal if they cause any symptoms. In many instances when fibroids present themselves the patient will be advised to have a myomectomy in most cases the fibroids will regrow. If the patient has a hysterectomy, the vitality from the centre of the body would be lost and this procedure should only be conducted in extreme cases.
