Meningococcal rash

A rash that arises in about half of all cases of meningococcal meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia. The rash occurs as pin-prick spots underneath the skin that form together to give the appearance of a bruise. The rash linked with meningococcal infection will not fade away when pressure is applied (glass test).
