Nail-biting
A widespread habit of children during their young years at school. The majority of children simply grow out of it, although nail-biting occasionally carries on as a nervous habit of adolescents and adults. Constant nail-biting can make the nails look unsightly and cause bleeding and pain.
A range of preparations with a displeasing taste can be painted on to the nails as a preventive measure.
