Tamponaid
Compression of the heart by fluid within the pericardium (the membrane surrounding the heart), which can cause collapse and breathlessness. Causes include pericarditis (inflammation of the pericardium), complications after heart surgery, or a chest injury.
A diagnosis is made by echocardiography. Treatment of tamponaid involves removing the fluid.
