Tennis elbow
Tenderness and pain on the outside of the elbow and in the back of the forearm. Also known as lateral epicondylitis, tennis elbow is caused by inflammation of the tendon that attaches the muscles that straighten the wrist and fingers to the humerus (upper-arm bone).
Treatment of tennis elbow consists of applying ice-packs, resting the arm, and taking analgesic drugs (painkillers) or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. In certain cases, ultrasound treatment, surgery, or injection of corticosteroid drug can be required.
