Alfalfa

This plant is also known as Lucerne and it is a perennial plant. It grows sporadically but it is also cultivated. Its leaves are trifoliate and its flowers are purple and they produce spirally coiled seed pods.

Properties and Use:

Its leaves are used as an appetizer, diuretic and tonic. It can be used to improve appetite, eliminate the water the body retains in excess and it also has a beneficial effect on bowel and urinary problems.
