Hops

This is a perennial plant that is wild and also cultivated for making beer. The leaves are cordate and have from three to five serrate lobes. The female flowers grow in catkins and the male one in panicles facing downwards.

 

 

Properties and Use

Hops is used mainly for the calming effects and it is recommended for insomnia. It is also a tonic and it stimulates appetite and relieves stomach cramps. Because of its diuretic properties it is indicated for urine problems.
