Red pimpernel

This is an annual plant that grows wild but it is also cultivated around the world. It has sessile and ovate leaves with blue-green tops and brownish with spots underneath. The flowers are star shaped and differ in colour from red to white and blue.

Properties and Use

Red pimpernel is used for inducing perspiration, thus eliminating excessive water from the body. It is also a diuretic and it is indicated for urinary problems. This plant must only be taken with medical advice.
