Bistort

This is a perennial plant that grows on mountains that loves hydrated soils. The plant grows up to three feet, it grows straight and the leaves are oblong-lanceolate. The flowers are light pink and grow at the end on the stem forming a raceme.

Properties and Use

Bistort can be used for diarrhoea and dysentery problems and also makes a good remedy for gum problems. It can also be used externally for wounds and haemorrhage, having the effect of stopping the bleeding.
